How it works

Power Plate ConsolPower Plates work by creating instability in the body, forcing your muscles to contract multiple times per second, meaning you can do a full body workout in as little as 10 minutes.

How to use Power Plate

Once the Power Plate turns on, simply follow the steps below to start your workout:

  1. Press Start
  2. Set frequency (30, 35, 40 or 50 Hz)
  3. Set workout time (30, 45 or 60 sec)
  4. Set amplitude (Low or High - see below)
  5. Press Start
  6. Enjoy workout
  7. Press Repeat, or start again with Step 1.

 

When setting Amplitude use low for exercise programmes and High for Massage Programs. You can use the workout planner in the studio to structure your session or download a programme from this site.

How often should I use the Power Plate?

You can use the Power Plate for any length of time from 8 to 24 minutes.

If you're using the Power Plate for stretching or massaging, it can be used every day but if you're strengthening or toning your muscles you should leave a day between workouts to give your muscles time to recover.

What do I need to bring?

You don't need to wear sports clothes to use the Power Plate, just make sure you take your shoes off if you're not wearing trainers. You may want to bring a towel for any floor exercises and a bottle of water to rehydrate after your workout, but don't worry, you won't get sweaty.

The Power Plate uses the principles of vibration training to create instability in the body, forcing your muscles to contract up to 50 times per second. The result of this is a more intense workout in less time, allowing you to work out your whole body in as little as 10 minutes.

Safety

If you think you might have a medical condition or physical limitation that could affect your ability to exercise, we suggest you speak to a doctor before using the Power Plate.

You must NOT use the Power Plate if:

  • You're pregnant
  • You have severe osteoporosis (t-score of -4 or worse)
  • You're in treatment for Cancer (currently in treatment)
  • You have a severe heart condition
  • You have acute thrombosis
  • You have a pacemaker

You should speak to your doctor before using the Power Plate if:

  • You've recently had an operation
  • You suffer from migraines or epilepsy
  • You have gall or kidney stones
  • You have severe hernia or back problems
  • You have metal pins, bolts or plates
  • You have synthetic joints

If you feel dizzy, faint, short of breath or in any pain, stop using the Power Plate immediately and consult your doctor.
